Professor Seeram Ramakrishna, FREng, Everest Chair is a world-renowned scholar of cross-field at the National University of Singapore (NUS), which is ranked among the top ten universities in the world. He is named among the World’s Most Influential Minds (Thomson Reuters) and Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers since 2014. His publications to date received an H-index of 195 and 185,813 citations (Google Scholar). He made seminal contributions in understanding and enhancing the biological, chemical, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and physical responses of nanofibers | nanomaterials. He championed cross-fields R&D approach to advance nanofibers in air filtration, liquid | water filtration, composites, regenerative medicine | tissue engineering, energy generation, energy storage, sensors, intelligent materials, and wearables. Highest professional distinctions include an elected Fellow | Academician of Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng), UK; Singapore Academy of Engineering; Indian National Academy of Engineering, India; Chinese Academy of Engineering, China; and ASEAN Academy of Engineering & Technology. He is an elected Fellow of AAAS, ASM International, ASME, AIMBE, USA; IMechE and IoM3, UK; ISTE, India; and IUBSE (FBSE). He received a PhD from the University of Cambridge, UK, and TGMP from Harvard University, USA. He received advanced research experiences from MIT and Johns Hopkins University, USA and KIT, Japan. He founded the Global Engineering Deans Council. His academic leadership includes NUS’s Vice-President (Research Strategy); Dean of NUS Faculty of Engineering; Director of NUS Enterprise; Director of NUS Industry and Technology Relations Office; Director of NUS International Relations Office; Founding Director of NUS Bioengineering; Founding Co-Director of NUS Nanoscience & Nanotechnology Initiative; and Founding Chairman of Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS). He advocates decarbonization of economies via materials | resources circular economy.
